Partners
As part of the initial phase of Inuit Qaujisarvingat, we will work towards building partnerships with key stakeholders including foundations, governments, NGOs and private sponsors.
To date, we have already made several collaborative relationships with researchers and research institutions and we are interested in developing further partnerships and networks in the Arctic research community.
“The creation of an Inuit-led and directed knowledge centre to support, design and conduct research that is specifically oriented to address Inuit needs and priorities is an extremely valuable addition to the research landscape in Canada and the circumpolar North.
The Inuit Qaujisarvingat: The Inuit Knowledge Centre has the potential to lead the creation of what becomes known as ‘Inuit science and research.’ As well, I feel that the Centre has the potential to play a very important role in partnering with University-based researchers and leading us toward the generation of new knowledge that draws upon the best of both western scientific and Inuit knowledge systems.”
